As FLO Bahamas continues its week of anniversary announcements marking 12 years of service, we are thrilled to welcome Erin Brown, Ph.D. (hc) as the organization’s new Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. In this role, she will also lead FLO’s Program Steering Committee, helping to shape and strengthen the reach and impact of all national volunteer initiatives.
Ms. Brown brings a remarkable depth of leadership and purpose. A Grand Bahama native and globally recognized Disability Inclusion Consultant, she has spent over two decades helping communities become more accessible, equitable, and empowered. Her leadership spans the public, private, and civil society sectors, advancing accessibility, resilience, and opportunity for all.
Through her work with Erin Brown Connects (EBC) and her involvement on international platforms such as the United Nations Internet Governance Forum and the Commonwealth Disabled People’s Forum, she has championed the rights and representation of persons with disabilities across the Caribbean and beyond. Her influence has shaped policy reform, education, emergency management, and inclusive employment, proving that advocacy and action go hand in hand.
As she steps into her new role, Erin will guide FLO’s Program Steering Committee in ensuring that every national volunteer program reflects the heart of our mission: that everyone has something valuable to give and every community has something worth building together.
Her appointment reflects one of FLO’s core beliefs that lasting change happens when diverse voices, talents, and abilities come together for a common purpose.
